The theoretical knowledge at the KhAI is combined with all-round practical grounding. For this purpose at the University there are academic-scientific-manufacturing associations which include the enterprises and organizations of Ukrainian aerospace scheme such as:

• "ANTONOV" Aircraft Scientific and Technical Complex;
• "MOTOR SICH "Joint Stock Company;
• "KHARTRON" Kharkiv Scientific Manufacturing Association;
• Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Enterprise;
• "YUZHNI MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PLANT" Enterprise Association;
• "YUZHNI MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PLANT" Enterprise Association;
• "YUZHNOYE" State M.K. Yanguel Design Bureau;
• "AVIANT" Kyiv State Aircraft Plant;
• "PROGRESS" Zaporizhye Mechanical Engineering A.G. Ivchenko Design Bureau and others.

All the listed enterprises have filials of the departments and faculties where students are trained as well as undergo practical training. The classes at these filials are conducted by both the University's instructors and highly qualified experts of enterprises and organizations of aerospace field.

Students of all specialties undergo practical training at the enterprises within 3-5 weeks depending on specialty studied.
